As L.A. Bella we have made it clear that we want to break the stereo-type that co-exsists with the label "L.A. girl". A Kanye fan to the core, I still must admit he slayed us in his song with his closing lines of "spoiled little L.A. girl, you're just a L.A. girl" As L.A. women we have a lot to offer. It is time for us to empower eachother the same way the fellas seem to do. Luckily enough for us, we don't stand alone in this journey. We are not the only ladies giving that stero type a big ass R.I.P. Noted, we are all seperate entities, but it is nice to be in good company & that's exactly who these ladies are so...Get to know our fam & who we fuck with. So, take Drake's advice because.. "These names I mention are crucial, you're gonna need us"..
Brenn Colleen: First and foremost I am a writer. It is the only thing I can see myself doing forever. Secondly but just as importantly I am one half of L.A. Bella. I'm the creative chaotic one of the two & I move, I meet, I make shit happen. I'm a hip hp head with and r&b soul and an accoustic folk heart. A slave to the arts as well as a proud member of the GhettoRock clan. www.ghettorockclothing.com
Jaye Bell: The Pomona raised bella is the defintion of Ms. Independant. Everything she's got she's gotten solely by her damn self, now that's something that demands respect. After leaving her last position at the Markley Group she co-found the organization she runs with yours truly. She is the the structure & the glue that holds L.A. Bella together. The helper, the listener, the business savvy savior I call my own, and that's just the beginning of what she has to offer.
Saleisha Stowers: You all might know her as the season nine winner of Americas Next Top Model. To me she's my irreplacable bff, but she doesn't stop there. The show was just the beginning launch to her career in modeling. She's traveled the world, from doin photoshoots on the Great Wall of China to rippin the runway in Italy. This bella isn't only stunningly beautiful, but also is in the midst of starting her own foundation. Stay tunned, we'll fill you in on all that shortly.
Briana Slape: She's packed up all her shit and relocated from the Bay to L.A. & couldn't fit in any better. Currently keeping up with the madness that her clothing line Weekend Warriors is bringing her. Their slogan seems to sum her up pretty perfectly "Some women are born warriors." She is known as the crazy hard-ass beezy who has teamed up with her, roomate, best friend, & I'm sure the only person she could make it happen with..
Desi Finley: Another recruit from the Bay Areaaaa!! Yes you guessed right, De$i is the other half of Weekend Warriors. You've seen them at events, they throw their own events, keep clothes on your backs & their line seems to stray from the rest of the crap lines that are out now. The crazy, sexy, cool duo is hard to ignore & real talk, you're not gonna wanna miss em.
Akelee Relliford: Aight aight the songbird is my older sister, but I dare you to find someone who can sing better. Matter fact, let's put money on it. The Los Angles native just got back to Cali after spending a year in Atlanta recording with her group Melrose. With a team lead by the duo that Diddy can't leave alone, Jermaine Dupree protege, Brian Cox and the grammy award winning writer Adonis the diva is set to be a househould name in no time. Remember I said it first.
Anna Stimson: Most of you Mtv addicts probably know her as the badass bitch from the summer reality show Maui Fever, but after saying "Aloha" (wait, it means Hello & Goodbye right?) to the tropical island and planting her feet in Hollyhood her crazy ass is just getting started. She is now pursuing and conquering a career in the modeling industry. C'mon you know you'd book her. & if you catch her in the club, WARNING do not attempt to get on her level, this stunner will drink you under the table.
Gabriella: She's a hardworking woman, holding down a nine to five, as well as being the only other girl on the ghettorock team, but I like to refer to her as teh first lady of Ghetto Rock. Without this girl, shit would most likely fall to pieces. She doesn't only handle much of the business aspects of the line, but also is a plays a major roll in the womens line. If it needs to get done, look to Gabby to do it.
Asia: My little sister is nowhere near your ordinary sister. Growing up in the dance studio, she ate, slept and breathed choreography and trust me it shows. She is now pursuing her dream to perform. 1/3 of the singing group Collage, her schedule literally consists of back to back studio sessions, vocal lessons, dance rehearsal and endless meetings, but then again you know what they say about practice making perfect & all that.
Paulette Marie: The lifelong bff & right hand chick to Jaye. Now, not only does she play a big hand in raising her nieces and nephews, & before you shrug that off let me just point out that there are four of them ranging from ages 5 to 15, now if that isn't commendable I don't know what it. However P is also the CEO of her fathers company. No not the manager, or the suervisor. The mothafuckin CEO! She's not a business-woman, she's a BUSINESS, woman!!
Jen Drummen: The Valley born brunette bomb-shell who stems from Granada Hills, or "The dirty dirty" as she likes to call it, is my ex-co-worker turned stylist and no one has more style than her. Hop in her car and she's most likely bangin 2Pac with a tatoo that says L.A. Woman between her shoulder blades. This girl is doper than Crystal Meth. You should be looking forward to see her womans T-shirt line (Lost&Jealous) coming out soon.
Veronica Simonton: You'd think the Chino Hills bread would be satisfied with graduating from USC with a couple broken soccer records under her belt, but apparently that's not good enough for the now Culver City resident. She is not keeping busy with her carrer as an Occupational Therapist for autistic children during the the day and coaching the highschool girls soccer team at Harvard Westlake at night. When does she eat & sleep?
Court: The Long Beach repper is not only the proud parent of quite possibly the cutest little boy in the world, but also doubles as a contributing writer for www.theeargasm.com She's a self proclaimed hip hop head and trust me, I can vouch. I'm a pretty dificult critict to impress, but it's quite possible, that she takes the crown. I, myself can't seem to escape her hiphop based blog www.thenamescourtney.blogspot.com. So, try to keep up.
Jamie Atikins: So we finally have one who isn't from California, but trust me she is Cali affective. The blonde hair blue eyed work of perfection spends most of her time working at the hospital, but as all real members to the L.A. club know, she works the shit out of her side hustle. Modeling comes quite easy the the Wisconson born beauty. & I've got to be the one to say, she's honestly just as perfect in person.
Dana Moore: Another lady of Long Beach. I'm sure you all know teh sneaker slanger from Flight Club. & if not from there then definitely from her extensive dance backround. Apparently dancer/choreographer wasn't enough of a title to hold down for Miss.562. She is also the lovely lady who brings us out and gets us into all our favorite events & last but clearly not least runs her own burlesque company called Elle Bon Claire. Yeah yeah yeah keep it in your pants boys!
Cara Marie: This Calabasas cutie steers far away from the "Calabasas curse, of Dumb broads with Uggs". Cara spends most of her time in the city running her four time emmy award winning fathers (Paul Sandweiss) studio, Sound Design Corporation. Somehow she manages to do all and still land commercial campaigns with big names like Ed Hardy and still scrambles up the time to fit me in for a blunt rotation here and there, how she does it is beyond me.
Courtnie Cox: Yes, like the actress. She is our baby, but like Aaliyah constantly reminds us that "Age ain't nuthing but a number." The baby Bella if you will. While spending most of her time running with us she is also pursuing a modeling career. Yup got us another model. What is it with all these pretty ass bitches? More importantly be on the look out for this one. She's starting young, which means she's gonna win young. Get em Court.
A major big up to all my ladies that are doin it out here. I'm sick of women hating on eachother and tryin to tear eachother down. Let's boost eachother up. There's enough for everyone to eat. Do your thing fam.
Till next time xoxo B.C. of L.A. Bella
